American Chopsuey


American Chopsuey

American chopsuey is the most favorite side dish in America.Its crispy and the flavors of tangy sauce creates magic in the dish. A must try recipe for all the chopsuey lovers.

Ingredients-
  1. Hakka noodles-1 packet(Boil it and strain it with fresh water and add little salt and oil in it and keep aside)
For curry sauce-
  1. Capsicum-1(julienne)
  2. Onion-1(Thin sliced)
  3. Corn flour powder-2 tsp
  4. Sugar-1 tsp 
  5. Tomato ketchup-2 tsp
  6. Salt-as per taste
  7. Chili garlic sauce-2 tsp
  8. Oil for frying
Method-
  1. Boil the noodle for 2 to 3 minutes,but not more than 4 minutes to prevent it from turning soggy.
  2. Sprinkle a dash of salt and drizzle some oil,keep aside.
  3. Take a wok,add oil.
  4. Now take a bunch of noodles and deep fry them.
  5. With the help of a flat big spoon press the noodles so that they remain joint together.
  6. Now when  it will start changing its color ,flip it to the other side.
  7. Fry it till it turns crispy and then place it on an absorbent paper.
  8. Now,take a wok add 2 tsp of oil.
  9. Add onions and capsicum in it.
  10. Stir it for 2 to 3 minutes.
  11. Now add salt,sugar and chili garlic paste and saute it.
Add corn flour powder and then add water in it,stir it continuously.
  1. Now add tomato ketchup.
  2. Stir it till it gets thick.You can add more water if needed.
  3. Lastly you can add some boiled noodles in the sauce.
  4. Start the plating by placing fried noodles and pour your ready thick tangy sauce on it.
  5. Enjoy!
  6. You can also add omelette pieces on the top.

Schezwan potatoes



                    Schezwan  Potatoes

A good news for all the mothers ! kids who are fond of eating Chatpata and outside junk food,now there is no need of going out and get unhygienic food for your children.At home you can prepare this yummy and easy starter.So here comes the recipe-

Ingredients -

  1. Par boiled potatoes 5 to 6 (cut in thick slices)
  2. Onion 1 thin sliced
  3. Capsicum 1 (in cubes)
  4. Garlic cloves 3 to 4 (crushed)
  5. Schezwan sauce or spicy chili garlic sauce (as per taste)
  6. Sugar 1/2 tsp
  7. Tomato ketchup 1 tsp
  8. Salt as per taste
  9. Fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  10. Oil for frying


Method -

  1. Take the potatoes peel them and cut them into thick slices.
  2. Take a wok add oil and deep fry them in batches.
  3. Now take them out when they will start turning golden and put them on an absorbent paper.
  4. Now take another wok add 2 tsp oil.
  5. Add garlic and onions turns translucent in color.
  6. Now add capsicum.
  7. Stir it .Add sugar ,salt and schezwan sauce in it.
  8. Now add fried potatoes in it.
  9. Add tomato ketchup.
  10. Mix it gently to avoid breaking of potatoes.
  11. Garnish it with coriander leaves.

Cheeseeeee!! yep again a cheesy recipe is here on the blog,a simple and a jiffy dish , like a kid can also make this but under mommy's surveillance .So here goes the yum yum recipe-

Ingredients -

  1. Four loaves of white bread.
  2. Two cheese slices.
  3. Oil for frying

Steps-.
  1. Take the bread loaf and press it with a roller.
  2. Now,sprinkle little water on it and roll again gently.
  3. Take a cheese slice,cut it into half(one bread slice and slice of cheese)
  4. Put the cheese slice into the bread.
  5. Roll the bread and paste the edges with little water.
  6. Take a wok, add oil.
  7. Add your cheese bread sticks and deep fry them.
  8. Take them out if they have turned crispy.
  9. Put them on an absorbent paper.
  10. Enjoy it with your dip or ketchup.

Hash Browns



                                   Hash Browns(McDonald's style)

An American dish "Hash Browns" is a popular choice in breakfast .An easy and total palatable recipe which is made by just two ingredients!Yes two ingredients sounds! strange ! So here goes the must try recipe- 

Ingredients-

  1. Par Boiled Potatoes - 3 t o 4 medium sized
  2. Cornflour powder - 2 to 3 tsp for binding
  3. Salt as per taste
  4. Pepper powder (optional)
  5. Oil for frying

Method -  
  1. Take the potatoes and peel  them.
  2. Now take a grater and grate it in a thick form(not too thin)
  3. Now take a bowl add the potatoes in  a bowl ,add salt and pepper powder in it.
  4. Now take the cornflour powder and mix it properly .
  5. Add 1/2 tsp of water if needed.
  6. Now take a butter paper and put the mixture on it.
  7. Take another butter paper cover the mixture and with the help of a roller roll the mix.(do it very gently)
  8. The potatoes mix should be not too thin , it should be 1 inch thick.
  9. Now keep this mixture in fridge for 3 to 4 hours.
  10. After 4 hours take it out.
  11. Take a wok add oil let it get heat.
  12. Uncover the butter paper and cut the potato mix with the help of knife into your desired shape.I have chosen a triangle shape.
  13. Now deep fry the pieces one by one.
  14. Flip their sides.
  15. When they will start turning golden and crispy means they are ready.
  16. Keep them on an absorbent paper.
  17. Serve it with your favorite dip or ketchup.

Corn poha



                                                           Corn Poha

Poha is a light snack which i can have any time.Its an easy digestible form of rice easily used to make snacks or it can be eaten with milk.Its very healthy to have poha in breakfast as it is rich in vitamin b,carbohydrates and proteins.

Ingredients-

  1. Poha - 2 cups
  2. Onions - 1 medium sized (thin sliced)
  3. Boiled corns - 1 cup
  4. Peanuts - 10 to 12 pieces
  5. Curry leaves - 3 to 4
  6. Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  7. Salt as per taste
  8. Red chili powder- as per taste
  9. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  10. Sugar - 1 tsp
  11. Turmeric powder -1 tsp
  12. Mango powder - 1 tbsp
  13. Oil - 2 tsp

 Method -

  1. Take the poha and strain it fresh water.Keep aside.
  2. Take a wok add oil let it heat and add curry leaves, peanuts and mustard seeds.Let it crackle.Roast them till it turns little crispy.
  3. Add onions and fry them till they turn translucent .
  4. Add turmeric powder.
  5. Now add corns in it and stir it well.
  6. Then add poha in it.
  7. Add salt,sugar,red chili powder and coriander powder.
  8. Mix it gently that poha should not break.
  9. Lastly add mango powder
  10. You can garnish it with coriander leaves(optional)
  11. your poha is ready.

Cheese parantha



                                                      Cheese Paratha

This paratha is specially for kids as well as those foodies who are not  worried for their weight!
Yes its a heavy paratha loaded with cheese.Weight conscious people can try this at their own risk!!LOL!!

Ingredients -
  1. Shredded mozzarella cheese - 1/2 cup
  2. Normal wheat dough
  3. Chopped onions - 1 small sized
  4. Boiled potatoes - 1 small sized
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. Green chilies - 2 or 3 (optional)
  7. Red chili powder - as per taste



 Method -
  1. Take the kneaded dough and make a ball of it.
  2. Then take chopped onions,boiled potatoes mash them and add salt,green chilies,red chili powder and mozzarella cheese in it.Mix it properly.
  3. Then take the ball roll it put the stuffing in it.
  4. Now fold it and dusk it with little flour.
  5. Roll it and spread it like we make parantha.
  6. Now apply some oil and flip it till it turns little crispy.
  7. Your cheese parantha is ready.
  8. Enjoy it with butter or curd.

Cheesy Potatoes

Cheese is my love and Potatoes are my first crush!Sounds funny?But truly when i am hungry i look for these two ingredients.Potatoes are everyone's best friend and i can have them anytime when i am hungry!!So here goes the recipe -

Ingredients -

  1. Boiled potatoes - 3 to 4
  2. Onions - 1 small sized (finely chopped)
  3. Boiled american corns- 1 cup
  4. Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 cup
  5. Green coriander leaves - For garnishing
  6.  salt as per taste
  7. Chili flakes (optional)
  8. Oregano for taste
  9. Lime juice -2 tsp
  10. Salted butter - 2 tsp

Method -
  1. First boil the potatoes and peel them.
  2. Then cut them into thick round slices.
  3. Take a wok add butter.
  4. Then add onions in it ,saute it till it turns translucent.
  5. Now add corns and salt in it.
  6. Now sprinkle some oregano flakes ,Chili flakes ,little salt and mix it well.
  7. lastly add lime juice and switch off the flame.
  8. Now take a flat pan and brush it with little oil.
  9. Then put the sliced potatoes on it.
  10. Roast them and flip them till they turn little golden in color.
  11. Now sprinkle some salt on the potatoes and switch off the flame.
  12. Take one potato slice and place your ready corns on it.
  13. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on the top.
  14. If the potatoes are hot the cheese will melt very soon,but if they have turned little cold then you can put in microwave for few seconds to melt the cheese.
  15. Lastly garnish it with coriander leaves.
  16. Enjoy this with your favorite dip or ketchup.
